My Philosophy

Artistry

Backed by obsession.

Pushing for the unthinkable.

Pushing for the unthinkable.

My heart for design can be traced back to the days prepping for urban design school in New York—a place that has always inspired my work.

Floral design met me in all the unexpected ways. During my gap year, I was offered a position as a Floral Specialist—very different from the carefully laid out architecture career path I was on. I took it, not knowing what to expect or where it would take me, but once I got started, there was no going back. I fell in love. Everything I’ve learned has been self-taught. Instead of my doing my day job, you could find me watching countless YouTube videos and arranging flowers at my desk. In short, my side gig became my obsession. It was decided. I would pursue a career in floral design. On my days off, I’d work for other floral designers on weddings in Virginia, where I was born and raised. I continued to grow and perfect my craft, dreaming of one day working for myself.

In 2019, I moved to Colorado. It was here that I reconnected with a friend through Instagram who needed help with flowers for a wedding. It felt right being in that environment, designing what spoke to me as a creative. I had finally found the creative autonomy I was looking for. From here, I would go on to create my own creative studio for the unexpected. It’s a pinch-me moment for sure. I’m grateful to have found this path, to be able to partner with fellow creatives in this industry that are continually pushing the boundaries of beauty. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and the artistry we can create together.

Kind Words

“Working with Alex on the florals for my wedding was an absolute dream. She has such a creative mind and worked very closely with me, providing inspiration boards and knowing exactly what I meant when I said words like, “bouncy” or “cloud-like”. Working with such a creative person can oftentimes be intimidating for me to speak up or make alternate suggestions, but in our meetings, I always felt seen and understood. There were a few key pieces I was really specific about that she absolutely nailed & the other pieces I wasn’t so rigid with I gave her full artistic freedom and was blown away with what she came up with. All in all, the day absolutely surpassed my expectations and the time working together was so enjoyable - we will be forever friends!”
